Hi Folks,
I've got a Goodmans GNAV10 running destinator OP, and my maps appear to have gone walkies!
What i did was: Had a customer complaining about an HP iPaq with a dodgy card reader, so in my infinite wisdom i thought "ah..my satnav has a card i can test it with" so i did.... and ever since, when i go into navigation from the splash screen i get "Your current map UK_Ireland is erased or damaged. replace the current map"
I can see the card through activesync, with a load of stuff on it (Root directory shows the following folders: Network, Program Files, Recycled, ResidentFlash, System, Temp, and Windows. Also a "control panel" shortcut)
I've tried copying all the stuff off it to a directory on my laptop but it fails on "system" as it's in use (probably because the device is switched on...which i cant get around, otherwise activesync wont see it)
If i put the card into a card reader it shows as not formatted, and windows wants to format it. This cant be right surely? I thought it would be FAT/FAT32
Destinator console cant see it either.
I've not had the thing long...so i'm not entirely sure how it all works, so would be i ok to format the card then try re-build it using the destinator console, re adding the maps etc?
Please experts....i'm off to donny in the morning and have absolutely no idea where i'm going so i seriously need it fixing if at all possible
I've learned my lesson, i promise
Cheers :D _________________ "'Today's Arbor Day!' Now my car's up a tree!"

I don't think you can use the card in a card reader, you have to have the unit plugged into your laptop via usb and switch it on.
Open up your destinator console sofware (the sofware that came with the unit - I am assuming you have installed it to your laptop already.
From here you should see an option on the top of the opening box that says install/ remove maps.
I've not done it myself yet as I've not needed to change the maps but it should be straight forward.
You may need to select the target device as my software always starts up with software undefined. (click the change tab at the bottom of the screen).
Ps. don't forget to select which map you want to install. at left of the screen
Hope this helps. _________________ Goodmans GNAV10

I got the same result.... then i thought sod it and formatted the original card with my card reader, plugged it back into the gnav, hard rebooted (stylus switch) and then lo and behold it miraculously started working again, with the console picking it up no problems... very very strange.
i blame the ipaq
Cheers anyway!
now the attempt to upload the speed camera database :D _________________ "'Today's Arbor Day!' Now my car's up a tree!"

Don't worry about it mate
I found my way around Doncaster no problems today :D
Speed Camera notifications work too. Picked one up on the A1 re-hash (the cone slalom) just after the A64 York Road slip road heading south. Need to change the sound though, "favourites alert" is a bit pap _________________ "'Today's Arbor Day!' Now my car's up a tree!"
