|
|
I have created a new POI folder using the TT Wizard type thing!! I initially allocated a default graphic for ease in finding when approcahing the areas. I have since tried to change this graphic to something more personal. I have replaced the TT default graphic with a GIF image and a JPEG image, both times I only get the default red square when aproaching.
Is there an easy way to make POI graphics please?
Cheers

Hi marksfish,
If you want to make icons for TomTom POIs then I recommend MS Paint, as I have found it to be the best (easiest) package to create icons. You can use MS Paint to resize a graphic and edit it.
The key requirements for an icon are:
Must be .BMP format.
Must be no larger than 22 x 22 pixels.
Must use no more than 256 colours.

Ah, that will be where I am going wrong Robert. I had also tried bitmap (forgot to mention in last post, but the size was 29x22 (I figured that as it was 22 high that would be okay). I have now resized to 22x17 (a bit small, but functional) and it appears as it should.
Thanks for your help.

The size can be 23 x 23 if that makes it easier to make the icon you want.
That size works fine with TomTom 3 & 5 & also Navigon 4 & 5 on a PDA so it should work on a GO or ONE etc. |

Hi,
I am also struggling to get "custom" icons to show. I loaded some POI's fro the navman POI's listed on your forum, they import fine exept for the icon. I have followed the instructions (limited as they are) found in the habd book but to no avail. |
