|

Hi,
I have a GPS4400 receiver which I want to connect to a SPV M3100 WM5 device.
I will be running Google Maps as the map software, not Smart ST (or maybe something else if more appropriate).
Does anyone know how to set this up? I've created the BT pairing and set an outgoing com port but that's as far as I've managed. Google maps says I should have a GPS icon in the system settings window but I don't.
TIA |

Welcome to the forum, please have a look at This Page it details the GPS set-up on WM2005 devices, note your actual com port numbers may be different due to diferences in the hardware, but the actual process of creating the BT Bond and creation of the port will be the same - Mike |

Thanks for the prompt reply Mike, much appreciated.
I'd got as far as setting the outgoing port, but I'm not sure if it's connected to the 4400 as I still get the double flashing light and I thought it was supposed to change to a single flash when connected (although it's a long time since I used it!).
And when I try to connect to a GPS with Google Maps it just doesn't want to know - I may see if I can find any other mapping software which works but I still think it's something to do with the connection. |

I've cracked it, the outgoing port was set to secure connection, as soon as I cleared this it all sprang into action! |

Hi,
Just purchased and loaded AA Navigator onto my Orange SPV M600 but having trouble connecting to a Navman 4400 GPS receiver. Have read all previous threads and tried just about everything but still no joy. Have set up a partnership (NAVMAN GPS ONE) on Devices tab which has serial port ticked (but have tried it with unticked and still failed. Have also set up Outgoing Port. Only had a choice of COM6 or 7 - have tried both. Then in AA Navigator on GPS Setup screen only have choice of Com 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 9 - have tried them all. On Baud Rate have used 57600. When it tries to scan for 4400 it always fails. Any ideas?? |

Have you tried a Baud speed of 4800 with that device, it might be worth trying - Mike |

Thanks Mike but I have tried 4800. I read the user manual for Navman 4400 GPS and it gave instructions for setting up a number of other PDAs but the only 2 baud rates it mentioned were 57600 & 4800. Still didn't work. |
