Hi all - this is my first post - what a great bunch of guys!
Has anyone else had trouble panning the maps? I am using my finger - unless I'm extemely careful, every time I touch near the edge of the map it reverts to the previous screen. Hope this makes sense - am I being ham-fisted, or does anyone use a stylus for panning? |

Erm, unless I'm going mad, you don't pan by tapping at the edge - you touch and hold your finger on the screen and drag it in any direction.
Try that! |

Yamaha - I completely sympathize with you. I find Browse Map on my TomTom One an absolute nightmare - the only complaint I really have with it at all
Trying to carefully use my finger to drag it, the map zooms in and out, changes screen you name it it does it! If I use the stylus off my Palm I have no problems at all and you bearly have to rest the stylus on the screen for it to register. I don't have particularly big fingers, but having smaller ones might help with this issue

I found on my TTone that if you press down a bit harder than you normally would that it pans perfectly fine, took me a bit of getting used to, and it still normal jumps home, or I knock the zoom bar by accident, but other than that all is well now. Just try and keep your finger pressed as if you take pressure off it seems to think you have tapped the screen rather than just been dragged. |

Use the back of/end of your nail rayher than your fingertip - more precise, you only need a light touch, and less likely to get smudges on the screen (as long as your nails are clean of course). |

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I have just tried the "nail" method, and that seems to work ok - just have to keep my nails long!!
I also tried my iPaq stylus - that works great, but of course there isn't anywhere to store it - and I am concerned it may eventually scratch the screen - my iPaq seems to have a glass-type screen, not soft like the Tomtom.
