I have an ipaq 3660 with a cf jacket with 512mb of kingston cf ram. I have installed tom tom 5 and all works fine. the ipaq is running pocket pc 3.0.11171 build 11178.
all works fine here.
My brother in law has an ipaq 3630 running windows ce 3.0.9348 build 9616.
I put the flash jacket on and its available and installed tom tom 5 and then added the map via the installation package to the cf ram.
tom tom starts and asks me right hand or left hand and which voice i want.
Then it quits and doest go any further. if i click tom tom again it wants to go through the setup each time.
I looked for ce updates on microsoft site but cannot find any. Am i correct in assuming that it wont work with this version of windows. various searches dont reveal anything online.
this is driving me potty.
regards

On the problem iPAQ, look for and delete the map_name.cfg file (where map_name is the name of the map you have installed) stored in 'My Documents/TomTom" and then repeat the set-up. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ok then the other options are:
Delete the 'navigator' directory and its contents in the Program Files directory and delete the 'TomTom' folder in My Documents
or
Hard Reset the iPAQ. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Interestingly I deleted what you said and the shortcut wont run tom tom now. It says tha one or moreof thecomponents are missing.
I feel we aregetting closer to the problem.

Are you using the same version of TT on both Ipaqs. If so they wont work - the installation will only work on one PDA, for obvious reasons - the licence only allows you to use it on one machine. |
