If you wish, you can use the full categories for each camera type, i.e. Gatso/Truvelo, Mobile, SPECS, Temp, etc, or you can use the speed-zoned subcategories. NB, if you use speed-zoned subcategories then you will use more POIs.
There are alternative .BMP files that allow you to have different icons that indicate the category (or subcategory) of the camera on your screen.

If you read the beginners guide you'll see that when you download the database and un-zip it there is:-
a folder called "single file version" which has, not surprisingly, the single file version, i.e all cameras lumped together;
a folder called "ov2 bmp files" which has the files for the 5 camera TYPES (+ continental cameras);
and a folder called "speed zoned" which has the Gatso, Mobile and specs TYPES split up into the various speed categories.
You can mix and match these in various ways but my usual method is to take the Red Light, specs and temp files from the "ov2 bmp files" folder and the rest from the "speed zoned" folder.
This gives 18 categories:-
pocketgps_uk_gatso_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_gatso_var.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_20.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_40.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_50.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_60.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_70.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile_tba.ov2
pocketgps_uk_temp.ov2
pocketgps_uk_specs.ov2
pocketgps_uk_redlight.ov2
(and don't forget their matching .bmp icon files - I use the "Pearce" ones from the "alternative bmp files" folder which has them all except for the new "*" one for variable speeds - get that one from the normal folder where the ov2 is ) |

Depends how fast you're thinking of approaching them!
Mine are set on a sliding scale from 200yds @ 30mph up to 360yds @70mph for fixed Gatsos, and from 300yds to 450yds for Mobiles.
No scientific reason, just what I've ended up with after a few months. |
