|
|
Today, the budget supermarket Lidl had Welltech 40032/AF 32 BT audio handsfree speaker units for £39.99 each, complete with:
Car and mains chargers
Earpiece (optional - main use is through speaker)
In-built magnets for mounting
3-year warranty
The unit has NiMH rechargeable batteries, and the makers claim 8 hours talk time for a BT mobile 'phone connection, and 14 days' standby.
I paired the unit with my Dell Axim X50 and have found the unit easy to use so far. Pairing is straightforward (with my PPC at least) as is connection on powering up from cold. On standby, the Answer and End Call Buttons (both illuminated) activate/deactivate the BT connection without problem.
As with other Lidl special items, these are available only while stocks last, so there's probably little time left - if it's not already too late.
Hope you don't mind, but I've added a link, here. Tim

Just to add, Expansys are selling what appears to be the same unit for £65 here. I've got Mrs. Buxton going to Lidl's in the morning. _________________ Tim |

Yes, my thoughts exactly.
Thanks for the correct link PONDEROUS. Don't know how I managed that. Oh, and it wasn't me who put the image in your post, either. Darren? _________________ Tim |

That was I, apologies, I mentioned it in an email to Ponderous but ought to have clarified that in the post too. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hardly a problem, when it made the whole thing clearer.
Our local branch still had them at lunch time today, so perhaps not a piece of technology that's catching on quickly yet? _________________ Dell Axims X50v & X30 (both WM 2003 2nd Edition). Well I've bought two one for my wife and I and first impressions are very good. Loud, clear and easy to operate. For some reason on my Exec it doesn't automatically connect when switched on, instead I have to press the 'call' button but apart from that it'll be great to dump the BT headset I use!
Handy for conference calls as well! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Have you tried it with your RIDER yet? I'm waiting for mine to charge up. _________________ Tim |

Although I may not have made it clear, that's how it is with my Dells too - unless there's some way of changing it yet to be discovered. _________________ Dell Axims X50v & X30 (both WM 2003 2nd Edition). Not yet, there is a 'tweak' needed on the RIDER for it to discover 'other' devices and I haven't got around to trrying it. _________________ Darren Griffin |
