tomtom500 with compatible windscreens

hi can anyone help as im looking to purchas a tomtom go 500. but have heard from some people that with my car (bmw 330 2000). they have heated windscreens or somthing like that, so would struggle to get a signal therefor i would have to purchas an external arial which is somthing i dont want to do, (as dont like to many wires in the car). has anyone had any experience with this

its the heat reflective windscreens they have a purple tinge to them they are not heated....
