|
|
Hi, Im new to all this sat nav and i hope someone can help me.
I recently bought a HP IPAQ RZ1710 and Kerrio car cradle from a shopping catalogue I live in Bradley, Bilston, Wolverhampton.
I have tried to navigate from my home address to my in-laws (1 mile away) and it doesn't recognise either of the addresses. Is there something i havent done right or is it not covered on the maps, or what? I am so fed up with the system i am thinking of sending it back, i bought it to stop me from buying A-Z road atlas's.
Anyone with any suggestions please, thanks for anyone's help |

It takes a while to get used to how the searches work.
If searching by address, first you enter the town name. That should be the postal town rather than a local village name. Then you put the street name. I have found it is easier just to put the first bit. For instance, if looking for Fairlawn Drive, just enter "Fair" and search and you will get every road, street, lane or whatever beginning with the letters F-A-I-R. Pick the right street out of those options. Then either enter a street number or take the "centre on street" option.
If searching by Postcode, then shorten your postcode down. If the code you are looking for is SA3 4HT, then just enter SA3 and search. It then asks you for a streetname so continue as above.
A full postcode search (ie all of your postcode) is not possible.
I hope that helps.
For your info, the postcode search on VM4.2 seems to be less functional than on VM3.2. I have contacted VM about this and am still waiting for a meaningful reply. _________________ - - - - - - - - -

That's a shame. I have had contact from the ViaMichelin people who have acknowledged that there is a software error and the they are working on a patch for the problem. _________________ - - - - - - - - -
