Hi
I have an Acer n50p and have just installed tt5 Navigator on it and then updated to v 5.1, without any problems. I use it with a GPSlim 236 sat receiver. It is mounted in the car with an Arkon powered cradle.
Updating the POI's with Pocket GPS POI-Sync was a breeze (thanks Team).
Also I have had no probs with the bluetooth rec/ppc connection.
There's really nothing else that I can add - mainly 'cause I am new to all this and have got most of my info from pocketgpsworld (thanks again). |

Hi gune
It is indeed the Holux receiver.
It possibly is cheaper to buy the arkon cm885 £95 (from Morpeth Mobiles)
I had already bought the Holux receiver (£60inc vat approx ebay) and was looking for a car cradle - I bought a cheap one which was utter crap - when I "discovered" Arkon and consequently bought the basic powered car cradle (£32+vat Clove Technology - whose service is brilliant (not associated with them!)).
Can't comment on the integrated receiver of the cm885. |

Hi gune
Sorry, didn't complete.
Yes the n50/holux is my sole gps set up and, as I say, I am very much a newbe to satnav so please bear this in mind when you're making any purchasing decisions.
Hope you find the above of some use |

i checked with most of pda mount people...
i first asked acer mother company.. so far NO response.. even after 10 days
brodit replied promptly thus:
Quote: | Thank You for Your email. We can only offer a passive holder version for the Acer n50.
|
rikaline also was prompt, thus:
Quote: | We do not have a powered GPS mount for your machine, sorry. |
silva no reply at all though they said will reply in 1-2 days time (auto reply) thus:
Quote: | This is just a notification to let you know that we have received your Email inquiry. You should expect a response within 1 to 2 business days. During times of high volumes, our turnaround time may take up to 3 days, but this is not a common occurance. Our office hours are between 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through
|
holux no reply not even auto reply
seido no reply at all
solware has arkon cm 885 @ 89.95£ including vat and free delivery. link
<http://www.solware.co.uk/pda-accessories/acer_n50_gps_active_cradles_holders.shtml>
which is slightly cheaper than
morpeth mobiles.
morpeth= same trader has on ebay much cheaper (slightly ) than ebay shop!!!
hope this helps anybody who is interested in acer n50/50premium and wants to use as gps device too.
only one powered gps mount availble is:
ARKON CM885 and for uk buyers solware or morpeth mobiles (ebay) should give you the best buy. 8) |

this is the reply from holux

Do you intend to check the CR-100 (car cradle) for n50?
Please note that we don't have CR-100 for n50 at this moment, and we might have it developed depends on the market needs |
