Hi All
New to the GPS scene and am asking the question if I purchase a Tom Tom Rider to use on my motorcycle can I then just transfer it and use it in my car witout adding any extras besides perhaps, routing the sound through the stereo system?

Although a car cradle has been mentioned there is no current information on this. The RIDER lacks any form of internal speaker and the only way to get audio from it is via bluetooth.
Any car cradle would either have to have its won speaker and be able to connect to the RIDER via bluetooth or some other method such as retaining the bluetooth headset that is supplied.
I fully expect a car mount to be offered at some stage. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for reply.
Do you think it might work with the mobile phone Blutooth earpieces (eg:Nokia etc) that are readily available in the marketplace, thus getting round the need to connect to the car sound system?
No doubt a cradle will be available for car use but its the sound connection and maybe aerial as it is inside the car, whereas on the bike it has nothing blocking connection to the sats.

Too early to say regards the headset. I have used mine in a car where a GO300 won't get a signal because of an athermic windscreen and thanks to a SiRFStarIII receiver the RIDER has no such issues _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have asked tomtom the same thing and they advise me that there is and won't be a car mount for the unit. I find that strange as i am a biker also and would like to use it both on the bike and in the car. I just don’t fancy detaching it from the cbr every time I have to stop as they are thief’s everywhere. _________________ Regards

I'm not a betting man but I fully expect a car cradle to appear at some stage. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yeah Dareen it does not make sense if they don’t as it will probably be sold as an accessory. _________________ Regards

Indeed it is. Sadly you still need to use the BT heaset as the car cradle lacks any form of speaker. Hopefully they'll rectify this at some point! _________________ Darren Griffin |

It is? It's still showing as "Available Q1 2006" with no price and no "Buy now" button as far as I can see. _________________ Tim |
