Hi,
I am confused concerning the differences between Copilot Live 6 PPC and SP6 functionality. I haven't found any way to resolve my issues using Alk or this forum. Can anyone help please?
The problem - my Smartphone (QTEK 8080) worked fine for CP5. I upgraded to v6, and discovered Stephen Hawking. I think that's what the forum refers to as any language speaking like SH - e.g. "well mm ooo Oh pilt". I cannot fix this behaviour. I asked for a refund and a return to v5 from Alk, no reply so far.
I don't have a TTS file to switch to or from text to speech, so I assume Smartphones can't do this? Stuck with OGG files only?
I bought a newer, faster SD card and re-installed, no difference. I had a TomTom on iPaq before it was stolen, and I'm considered going back to TomTom if I can't resolve this voice issue.
Also Copilot will crash sometimes if I change views or do anything to it.

I have the PPC version only. However, you might like to look on page 5 of the PDF manual for that version, which can be found on the ALK website. It might help.
While writing, could I ask that you please think again before using Prof. Hawkins's name in such a way, or showing similar disrespect to anyone else. _________________ Dell Axims X50v & X30 (both WM 2003 2nd Edition). 1) Thanks, but the on-line manuals do not cover my issues.
2) From reading other posts I thought "Stephen Hawkings" was the forum's way of describing the symptom. I must have missed the advice given to other members to desist from using it.
However since Hawkings has given his voice to an episode of the Simpsons in which his voice is mocked my assumption would be that he is well above taking this type of reference as disrespectful.
3) FYI I have made two posts to this forum and both times I have received the response I wanted direct from Alk shortly afterwards, so it seems that Alk are more reactive to the forum than to their own support emails.

I imagine Professor Hawkins would be flattered at such a distinction.
In some folks minds, he undeniably is the Master at overcoming adversity. I believe he helped pioneer 'PC speak', as well as being the greatest physicist since Einstein.
