Hi i was wondering if there any software out there that could turn your pda into a handsfree kit for your phone. I had a in car device that connects via bluetooth to your phone and then becomes a incar handsfree kit. there must be some software out there that can allow your pda to do the same thing?

Is there any advantage using the PDA other than the phone?

I do not think so.

You should get a handfre kit for the phone instead.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve here. How can your PDA be a hands free device? It needs to be held to be used.

You can buy aplenty of handsfree kits that will talk to your phone, and if your phone has a built in PDA it will talk to those. You can also get a Parrot CK3300 that is a combined phone car kit and sat nav receiver that will talk to your smartphone/PDA.

If you can afford a PDA surely you can afford a handsfree for your phone.
Handfree for you phone can cost next to nothing depending on what your phone is and what you want to do with it.

come on guys think about it

i have my pda in my cradle in my car i do not have one for my phone. it is against the law to use your phone if it is not in a cradle why would i want two cradles if i can get my pda to sync with my phone so that i can talk and listen to the person phoning on my pda.

I know these devices exist as a seperate bluetooth unit. i suppose it personel preference but i think it is an advantage just have the one device doing all rather than having many seperate device just doing the one thing.

the new Mio A201 can be used as a Handsfree kit via bluetooth connection. You can also dial from the PDA also. It use IVT chipset.

The Mio A201 does actually work as a handsfree but unless the device is quite close the microphone picks up a lot of background noise. The speaker is also not great so if ambient noise is high in the car then a conversation would be pretty difficult. It does give a larger pad for dialing on but to be honest the bluetooth headsets are the way to go in my opinion. A bluetooth headset can be bought for less than £20 now which is a pretty small price to pay for increased safety whilst driving, not to mention it's cheaper than the potential fine.
