|
|
Just accuired a secondhand Goodmans GNAV10 Sat nav receiver only and I need help with getting:
1. The power cables (both mains and car adaptor 5v 2a!)
2. The SD card with the map preloaded
3. Cable to attach the Sat nav to the PC+ software
Can someone tell me if I can buy the SD card from somewhere with the software loaded and is it a case of just put it into the receiver and "away we go"? or could I download the software from the net onto a normal SD card?
Also anybody recommend any good online shops that sell this sort of stuff. I tried Goodmans, they said they would order the parts but it would be "several months before they had them in stock"!!!
All this Sat nav stuff is new to me so any help and advice would be most welcome. |

How did you end up with a unit minus software and power cables? That would suggest a very dodgy unit to me? _________________ Darren Griffin |

My thoughts entirely - but decided not to post them at the time. |

sorry, but although you will use a standard SD card, it needs to be formated for use in a sat nav, so you may have to wait till Godmans, sorry, mis-spelt, Goodmans, get the stock |

It's all legitimate honest!!
This Unit was my brothers who had his car broken into on his driveway and had the power cable nicked along with everything else in the car! luckily he took the receiver with him, as for the SD card he took it out to try and upgrade it as he was still using the sat nav on batteries (until they ran out!) and basically lost it!! soon afterwards he got a company car with built-in Sat nav hence me getting his "hand me downs"
Wish I had'nt had bothered now I just cant get the parts needed to get it going i.e the power cable and the preloaded SD card. Goodmans are a waste of time. several months for a new part? their having a laugh!
Anyway if there IS anyone who can help me I would be very grateful |

I apologise - just naturally suspicious.
Suspect 2 reasons why it may be difficult to get your bits. First is that the suppliers will be even more suspicious than me about how you got hold of it
Second I suspect that Goodmans will just be buying these in from some anonymous manufacturer in the far east and simply wont have any stock of spares themselves - effectively cashing in on the sat nav boom |
