tom tom website - down ?

I have just got my TT one and purchased a 1 gb sd card with the intention of downloading either the full maps of western europe or spain - although I managed to register last night I couldnt get to the checkout when I went through the online ordering process - it kept showing the basket as 'empty'. I have an activation card but this has not been asked for at this point and today I cant even access the website to ring them. I need the map before the weekend does anyone know another way
a) to LEGITIMATELY download maps
b) if the website is down
c) I am wasting money by buyinhg the CDs from a retailer locally
Appreciate any advice as I am completely new to this :D
