Ok I'm new to GPS, but I can follow simple instructions, which is a good job because that is all haicom have supplied with this cf GPS unit ;p

I have installed the driver and the GPS info program
but I cannot get any info from these satellites (and tbh I've never seen them so how do I really know that they are there ;p)

loads of info scrolls by on the testing program ie $GPVTG,,T,,M,,N etc
but it never gets a fix and claims I'm at lat 2339 long 2339 and you don't need any geography qualifications to know that is just plain wrong (uk based btw)

Clearly TomTom doesn't work either

any help or suggestions greatfully received

If you are getting $GPRMC, etc scrolling in the display then its working, but as its the first time its being used give a clean line of sight to the sky (no windows etc) and leave it for 15 Min. once lock on is achieved it will be faster in future - Mike
