2210 with wired gps

if i want to go over to bluetooth do i have to buy a new tom tom software or is the one i got ok, also if i buy a bluetooth reciever will i be able to use it for bike rides / walking ,& how does it work while not connected to a battery

You can continue to use all of your existing software (including your copy of TomTom. All you need to do is change the GPS connection setup.

The BT GPS has its own battery, so you may want to select one that has a replaceable battery and if you carry an additional battery then you are on the safe side even for longer hikes/rides. Another advantage of the BT receiver is that you can position it conveniently, for example in a shoulder strap of your backpack, or in the top of the backpack itself, to protect it from the elements (read: water)
