We have completed the review of the Haicom 302 Compact Flash GPS Receiver.

Haicom is a well known brand in the GPS Market, and have a whole range of GPS Receivers depending on what you're really looking for. Haicom currently have the the Haicom 302 CF, the new 303MMF CF card that can be angled to varying degrees, the 302 LP (Low Power Edition), the Haicom 202E USB GPS Receiver and finally the more popular Haicom 203E which is the GPS Mouse of choice for many.

The GPS Receiver we are reviewing here is the Haicom 302 CF. This holds a Compact Flash Type I form factor. This means that any device be it Pocket PC, PDA or Laptop that supports Compact Flash Type I, Type II, or PC-Card will be able to use this as a GPS Receiver.

Another good review from the team!

Whilst it's of largely academic interest, has anyone collated a list of which GPS chipsets are used in which products. The HI-303MMF is SiRFstar IIe/LP. The HI-203E mouse is, I think I'm right in saying, based round an Evermore chipset. Any ideas on the others - including the 302 reviewed here?

Have the team any plans to review the HI-303MMF? If not, maybe I could provide a few pictures and a little commentary to add to this new review pointing out the similarities and differences. If you're interested, it'll take me a little while - I'm in the middle of a major PC upgrade-fest (so far I've replaced my main PC with a new Dell Precision 650 and I've got 90% plus of all my bits and pieces reinstalled on here, but I have two more desktops and a laptop to sort out). However, I am willing.

Thanks David!

I've been talking to several sponsors recently and we will be getting a 303MMF in for review but they're out of stock. We're going to try Haicom again and see if we can get them to send us some review units.
