Anyone know if it's possible to plan an itinerary (for tomtom300) on a PC and then download it on to the GPS device ? |

yes - you can use MS Autoroute or similar, export the waypoints to Excel, and then craft a macro that produces an ITN file from the waypoints. The ITN file can then be loaded from the "Itinerary" function on the GO _________________ Lutz

yes I have. You can even make it more complicated by editing the ITN file directly... _________________ Lutz

I've only just bought my GO300 so I'm just getting used to all it's functions - I'll therefore lay off doing this kind of thing for a short while.
I just thought it would be cool to be able to plan a route or itinerary at home before a journey on something like MS Autoroute or Google (or whatever) and then sync that up with my portable device. The rationale being that whilst all this is obviosly possible to do on the device itself, it's much easier to view a route on my 17" screen at home and make changes to it using my qwerty keyboard and mouse if I want to avoid certain roads and take others. I'm surprized that tomtom don't offer this kind of facility from their website.
Ibendin - mind if I hassle you at a later point if I need more detailed help when I come round to actually doing this ? |
