Hi guys, brand new here, just bought a TTGo700 today, and would like to know how to install the Safety cam POI, and then maybe the low bridge POI's that Ive seen in the HGV lounge onto the 700..in simple terms please, as Im not too techy.. with regards to the Safety cam POI..Ive connected the USB cable and browsed the files on the 700..do I install the files into a folder called Western_Europe-Map, as dont see a folder labeled \Great Britain as per the instructions, also is it just the folder labeled ov2 bmp files I need, or the alt bmp files as well...sorry for such basic questions but I dont wanna balls it up on my first day. Im running version 5.201 if thats of any importance.
Thanks for any help that may be forthcoming.... |

Hi LDR,
to the forum!
There are some guides that should be read (in the following order):
The beginner’s guide to the PocketGPSWorld camera database.
This explains about the different camera types and about categories and subcategories, so that you can decide how you want the database on your unit.
Depending on whether you have TomTom Navigator on a Pocket PC or TomTom GO, please read either:
How to install (camera database) POIs to TomTom Navigator 5.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto a Pocket PC running TomTom Navigator 5.
How to install (camera database) POIs onto a TomTom GO.
This guide explains how to load the PocketGPSWorld camera database onto your TomTom GO.
The above guides may look lengthy and complicated when first seen. However if you grab a cup of coffee and read each one thoroughly then they should make sense as they have been written in a step-by-step way, for ease of reading.
Once you have installed the speed camera database you can do the same with the Low Bridges one. The low bridges have a .OV2 file and .BMP file just like the speed camera database.

Thanks for the reply mate, Does this sound right.. Ive copied the 3 separate files for gatso, mobile & specs, along with their relevant .bmp images..then set up the proximity alerts and made sure they will be displayed.. |

So, I might as well have just installed the single file, along with its relevant .bmp, and saved some space for more POI's then.. oh well, I'll give this a try for a week or so, then I might just delete them and install the single file. Getting the hang of this now..got quite a few custom POI's from the list on here added..nice _________________ TomTomGo700

You won't save space, but you would save on the number of categories.
Space, on a 700 shouldn't be a problem. _________________ Richard
