I'm sorry but you can't put tomtom on to an icn as it only supports navman products the 520 is a pna (personal navigation device) and as such is locked if do attempt to unlock it and fail then you will have invalidated any warrenty you had _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

If you look under Mounting Bracket below it will show you a photo of a icn 520 with Tom Tom Navigator showing on it. |

all I'm trying to say is if you go ahead and do it and brick the unit then navman most likely not replace it as you will have voided any warenty on the unit _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Having followed many of the lengthy discussion about how to put TTom onto the Navman, I have to ask the obvious question:
WHY?
If people want a Tomtom, why not go and buy one? It seems like a lot of work with little to show for it at the end other than the risk of bricking your unit.

The reason for me doing this is simple, i just sold a pda with the latest tomtom but there was to many wires so a friend of mine who was short of cash asked if i wanted to buy his 520 for £150, but i find the software rubbish, ive only used it once and it calls traffic lights roundabouts and twice on one journey told me to go to a different direction than the 3map wanted me to go, so since its only cost me £150 and i have a legit version of tomtom software i thought its worth a flutter, rather than pay £300 for a tomtom 300. |

I just got my used 510 for $300 US off eBay. Haven't checked out its interface on the road. One thing I do know is that I've used TT 3,4, & 5 in Europe and US and it is very capable and reliable.
I'm looking for a device that will run whatever i want it to so that I am not locked into a product. I'm hoping GPS Gate will work so I can run a couple GPS apps side by side. |

I presume you have seen the lengthy thread in this forum on how to unlock the Navman and install WinCE. (Then your TomTom software)
Having read it all you will then be in an informed position on whether to take this step or not. Many have, but it seems it's not without its hiccups!
Take heed of the warnings about invalidating your warranty, but if it has already expired then that warning is academic. _________________ Gee-Pee

Works like a charm. Now I have SmartSt, TT 5.1, and other apps running on the same device. Now seeing what else I can load. |
