Firstly many thanks to Ray for helping me out yesterday. Ok now just one more thing i would like to know from users of Tom Tom products. If you could have a celebrity voice on your device who would it be?
I am going to do Michael Caine today and maybe others if i get time, but i would really appreciate your feedback.
Many Thanks
Stuart

I think the main thing with the voices is to make sure they are characteristic, by that I mean get them to say stuff that they are famous for and make them sound like they are talking naturally...
the thing is I just purchased the John Cleese voice and its rubbish if you ask me, he talks up at the end of when saying which exit to take i.e "second exit" and is just soo slow when he talks about things, his you have reached your final desitnation is poor, all that rubbish about not helping you with your bags rubbish and really slow, I expected better to be honest. We all know JC for his snarling whitty comments from Fawty Towers and I expected them to be on there to be honest, if you make a wrong turn he should be taking the micky!!
Maybe some sports presenters would be good, John Motson or Des Lynam for example, or some comedians like Lee Evans or Jack Dee..... |

Mark,
Many thanks for your reply, I have just finished the Caine and off to test it so should be interesting, it sounds ok a little bit high pitched but thats for me to worry about. Des Lynam is back and you are not the first person to ask for him either, just done him as a countdown ringtone. I love the Motty and he will be one anyway, I might mix it in with Delia.
I really do appreciate your feedback.
Many Thanks

Andy and Lou from Little Britian.
ANDY: I wanna go that way.
LOU: But that's left. You don't like turning left.
ANDY: Yeah, I know!
LOU: But you wanna go left?
ANDY: Yep.
LOU: You're positive?
ANDY: Yep.
LOU: You're absolutely sure you want to go left?
ANDY: YEP!
LOU: OK, then after 200 yards, we'll go left. What a kerfuffle!
<400 yards later>
ANDY: I wanna go right!!
Maybe not very practical, though... 8O

Yeah but no but yeah i will do it, well not me not one of my voices to be honest, trouble is if you make the files too big they device will crash. Thats why in the early stages I am keeping to the scripts and tailoring it to the celebrity, hence the Michael Caine one I have just done and Motty. Another member has asked for Al Pacino so I will do him as well.
But keep the ideas coming.
Thanks

I’d like to see some Dad’s Army voices:
Captain Mainwaring 'Stupid boy'
Sergeant Wilson 'Would you mind awfully falling into three lovely lines?'
Jones 'They don't like it up them', 'Handy-hock!' (German for 'Hands up!', allegedly), 'Permission to speak, sir!', and 'Don't panic!'
Frazer 'We're doomed'
