Hi - as the subject suggests, I'll be picking up my unit tomorrow and i can't wait!!!
I've also bought a 1 gig SD card and have a copy of Tomtom 5 ready to install.
Before I do so, has anyone else been through this and can give me any recommendations?
I'm running Windows 98 SE on my (oldish) PC - is it as simple as plug'n'play?
Do I just plug in the Holux through the USB and put the cd into the cd player?
Is is self explanatory?
I've done a quick search and not many have gone for this unit... any suggestions will be very much appreciated!
Cheers guys! |

Daz, welcome along, for a start load up the microsoft Active Sync disk BEFORE you plug the PDA into the PC (it should come with this on an application disk - if not download it from MS - you will need vs3,7 I think - don't get vs4,0 as its for WM2005 equipped devices). On the TT install follow it through if you get the insufficiant memory prompt on the PC type %temp% into the run command bar and delete the temporary TomTom file on the PC, it should work OK from then, finally for the Map install use an SD card reader - its so much faster, if you haven't got one I sugest it should be purchased prior to the install, also click the tick box to install the UK map AND the postcodes (it is often easily missed) - Mike |

Thanks a lot Mike - everything arrived and i think it works.... but..... do I really need to be online to use Active Sync??? I tried installing it and it tried to connect to COM1, COM2 and USB - all were quoted as being 'available' and i although i was plugged into the USB, it failed.
Is this because i wasn't connected to the internet?
Thanks and if there's any way round this any help would be much appreciated.
I basically want to use it primarily for SatNav with the PDA an added bonus...
