|

Hi all,
I am not impressed with TT5's contact navigation, which was my main reason for opting for a Pocket PC rather than a GO!
Nearly all the contacts I search for result in:
'Found problems analyzing the contact's address. Please verify that the Street and Number fields are correct.'
As the contacts are all business addresses most do not have a house number or even street name, but more often an Industrial Estate or similar.
tomtom doesn't seem to use even partial postcodes; e.g. I tried at contact at College Road, Birmingham B44 8DU and it gave me College Road, Birmingham B8 - miles away! :x
Does anyone know of getting the most out of this 'feature'? Is there any way of copying & pasting the postcode?
Cheers,
Matt |

You have to be very careful about how you enter the address in Outlook. When using the new contact form do not just write it directly into the address box. Instead click on the "address" tag and a box will come up with seperate lines for street, town, postcode etc. That way you have a better chance of finding the right address more often. It aint fool proof though. |

Thanks Peter,
The data (1792 contacts) was exported from a Customer Relations Management package called SalesLogix.
Although the fields are populated accurately for an address with 'house' number and street name, as they are business addresses, most of them start with an Industrial/Trading Estate, which tomtom does not recognise.
Thanks again,

Maybe try exporting it to Outlook first and checking to make sure it puts all the rights bits in the right boxes. If it doesn't then its probable the TT won't either. I don't think TT uses the postcode when navigating to contacts. |
