|

Hi. I am new to TTNav 5 but not to playing around with files on the PC. I have managed to get TTNav 5 on my 128 Meg SD Card. I installed the GB Map which is smaller than the GB Plus and deleted all but 2 Voices leaving Tim Nice but Dim and the Lovely Jane... I have the latest GPS Camera warnings running and so far all seems ok. Question is i have 345kb left on the card and cant squeeze anything else on..Now is this ok or do some of the files expand with use..????
Thanks in advance.

The .cfg file in the map folder will grow a small amount, and also over several months the Safety Camera files may get larger, but if it works ok then I would stick with it.
Do a FULL backup from time to time and then if it goes wrong you can at least get it working before going back to a larger card.
This may sound long winded, but with all my units, from new, I always do a full backup as I go along. I setup the new PDA the way I like it, then backup, then after adding something I again backup, and so on, after each backup I rename the backup file so I know what it is, this way at any time I can revert back if something does not work correctly or I need to start again. |

Yes good advice chaps. i do Back up as you say. i just wanted to see how small i could get it down to.. I do have other SD cards as i use them in my camera. I also have Destinator 3 for my PDA but i'm not too impressed with it to be honest.. I would'nt mind giving Copilot a bash at some stage..Anyone ever used it..???
The first couple of weeks with my new GPS Unit i was using the wrong setting for sattellites..Easily done..IMO. I kept losing signals at important times like going around roundabouts..I did'nt realise D3 uses different sets to TT5. D3 is 57600 and TT5 is 4800..Or is it the other way round..
Thanx for your replies again.. :D |
