I wasn't sure where to post this so I have posted it here and in the Holux forum.
I recently decided to upgrade my GPS receiver from the standard TomTom unit that came with my TT3 package (which I have since upgraded to TT5) to the Holux GPSLim 236 based on the excellent reviews on this site. Unfortunately, I cant get it to work with my set-up.
I have managed to bond the GPSLim to the PDA (it shows up on the "bonded devices" tab within bluetooth settings. Unfortunately the M1000 does not use bluetooth manager so I cant check the port settings etc.
When I go into TT it just reports "No GPS Device". I've selected "Other Bluetooth GPS" in the GPS configuration section of TT but it just comes up with a message saying "please pair your blutooth GPS and your PDA". I then select "continue" and "BT on COM6" but still no luck.
Can anyone help please ?????? |

Try other wired NMEA device, select BAUD speed then finally the correct BT port you need should appar on the list in the next screen - strange selecting wired when its a bluetooth device - but give it a try _Mike |

I've already tried that with no luck. The only BT com port that is available either in "Wired NMEA Device" or "Other Bluetooth GPS" is BT on Com 6.
Is there any way of checking which com port the GPS was allocated to when it was bonded to the device?
The only bluetooth option I seem have is to allocate the GPS Com 5 but Com 5 is not available within TTN5.
This is getting really frustrating. I've been try to sort it out for 3 days solid and am getting nowhere fast! |

Make sure you have your IR Beam turned off on your M1000 - You'll find this under Start--> Settings --> Connections --> Beam - Simply make sure the box to recevive all incoming beams is unchecked. - This is known to cause problems with all com ports on M1000's - Hope this helps.
