I upgraded to the new six CD set of WE maps and downloaded the UK map to a 512 SD card since my original UK SD as supplied was too small for the upgrade. I copied back in the POI files I had on the original plus the .cfg file as requested in the supplied instructions for the upgrade. Renamed the .cfg file in the GB_plus directory but I have lost all my favourites in so doing.
Clearly, I've done something wrong but can't quite figure out what.
Any help appreciated. Tristram |

The cfg file in the map folder, does it have the same name as the Folder?
Note the Underline and the Hyphen. _________________ Richard

I've renamed the .cfg file Great_Britain_Plus-Map.cfg and copied it into the GB-plus map folder. Is that correct?

I'm not using the GB Plus map at the moment, but it looks right.
If you still have a problem, use your old SD card, create a POI Category, and using Browse Map do Find | Favourite | Add As POI and add it to the new category.
You won't need to name it because it will use the name that Favourites called it.
When completed, copy to PC as POI, and then copy back to new SD card.
Either leave it as is, or do the reverse to reload your Favourites.
One reason why a lot of users do not use Favourites for storing important locations. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the reply. It seems, however, I've solved it. Because of copying the files from the original SD card to the new 512 card, and then loading the Plus Map, there were folders for both GB map and Plus map on the device. I guess it got confused with more than one .cfg file - although in different folders. Delete the GB map and, hey presto, the favourites appeared on the Plus software!
I appreciate your help. Tristram |
