Garmin iQUE M5 & Handymap software

I recently bought a Garmin iQUE M5 mainly for navigation purposes. Living in South Africa, the Handymap Copilot software offers wider coverage than the Garmap software. which is compatible with the QUEMAP mapping software supplied with the M5. I loaded the Handymap software on the M5, as well as the maps onto my SD card of the M5. I then found that the Handymap software cannot detect the GPS of the M5. I then downloaded GpsGate to enable me to share the GPS between the Quemap software (supplied with the M5) and the Handymap software, hoping that I will be able to use the GPS facility of the M5 with the Handymap software. I was instructed by the GpsGate supplier to set the input to the GpsGate to com 2, which I did, but I still could not get the Handymap software to funcion properly ( Handymap setup keeps on indicating that the GPS is not detected, but when I switch to Quemap, the GPS is clearly functioning)
Question:
How can I disable Quemap to activate the GPS for Handymap?
