|
|
I just bought a Mio 269+, sold mainly on the low price, full European coverage, and TMC integration. I'm starting a new job which involves 80+ miles on the M25 each day, so something that avoids the jams strikes me as essential.
Though I've searched extensively, I can't find much information about the TMC functionality on this unit. I'm assuming that it works in the UK but want to know for sure before I shell out an additional £59 on the TMC receiver (and presumably more for a Y-Splitter to improve reception).
Any comments or experiences with TMC integration (or just the Mio 269+ in general) would be greatly appreciated! |

MioMap is a version of Navigon, and even the new Navigon 5 does not support TMC in the UK, as far as I can tell from reading other forums Navigon would not pay the licence fee to incorporate in it's current version.
So no TMC in MioMap for the UK or France. |

This appears NOT to be the case -- I bought the adapter and I'm picking up a signal in many parts of the country. Need to buy a Y-adapter to wire it into my external aerial, as the internal one provided isn't terrible effective.
Can anyone recommend a source for the splitter in the UK? |

MatthewClement,
Is the TMC functionality working on your mio then, or can you just see it's 'receiving' the signal? Is miomap re-routing, or are you also waiting for the new sw?
'friad i can't help with the splitter, but if you find a source from somewhere else can you post the link here please?
Finally (!) did you pay full whack for the reciever...?
Thanks, |
