eMap auto power on?

Hi there,

My Garmin eMap automatically powers down after 30 seconds when the power supply is removed, which is great. Is there any way (software version 2.75, but can't see anything relevant in 2.90) to make it turn *on* when it receives power on the external power cable?

I have the eMap, an external ariel, a serial/power/ipaq cable, an Ipaq and a permanent mount for the ipaq. What I want to do is hard wire the eMap hidden under the dash, connected up to the power, ariel and serial but totally out of the way. This way all I have to do is put the ipaq in to it's mount and go. I'd like the eMap to start acquiring satellites from the moment the car is turned on - I can connect it to an "on ignition" power supply, but how do I actually turn it on?

Is there a way to open the unit to replace the power button at the side (with a relay or whatever)?

I've searched the forums for help, but if I've missed the answer to a similar question please point me at it ;-)
