|
|
I have just activated my 30 day trial of Traffic, was driving from Newcastle to Cheshire late Friday afternoon, and thought it would be the best time to try it out.
Put updates at 5 minutes and the traffic reports started coming in, however it did not seem to change my route as a result of these. I had to go into each incident and click avoid manually.
Is this the way that this system should be used? Or does it work out whether a particular traffic problem is worse than an alternative route and which to use?
Regards,
Peter |

It will only replan your route if a quicker alternative is available.
It's done this on me a few times but only when the delay is pretty serious.
hope this helps, _________________ Thanks,

So navigating through the specific delays and avoiding them explicitly isn't recommended?
I did this on Friday, and although it took me a weird route I didn't come accross a single traffic jam for 3 hours! |

If you've got it set to replan for you then no.
you really need to look at how lon the delay is going to be before avoiding it or you will end up taking strange routes and your journey will take forever. _________________ Thanks,

If you go into Traffic and select change preferences, there is an option to automatically re-route if delay above a certain duration, I can't double check this as I my trial has expired, and I've not made my mind up re purchasing it yet - Mike |
