|
|
Hi,
I have TTN5.1 running on IPAQ H5550 with TT Bluetooth GPS receiver. When I have several POI tagged the refresh rates are very slow. Even untagging all but the full set of Speed Camera POI still shows some impact on screen refresh rates. If I hide all POI's then everything speeds up and becomes very smooth. I use a 512M SD card with 10M read rate.
Is this normal or is there anything else I am missing in terms of some config setting?
Will loading the Camera database which has all cameras on 1 file improve performance?
PS Why is this "all in 1 file" not included in the POI Sync list (only in the zip file you can manually download?) |

If you use the option to warn when near POI and then disable all the poi's, you will get the smoothness back and the warning when approaching a speed camera. |

Yes, it's normal
However you don't need to have POI's displayed (enabled) to use the speed camera database. Select hide all POI's, then you will just get the warnings on their own, the POI will still be displayed on the map when the warning is being given. |

Thanks for the advise. That covers the Speed Camera situation.
However, there are some POIs that I want to see but not necessarily want to have warnings set for. As a general rule is it the size of the overlay files or the number of overlay files that slow things down ie is 1x100k file better that 10x10k files? |

From memory, not what it was :o, it is better to have 1x100K than 10x10K. _________________ Richard
