|

Registrations Now Closed - Event Fully Subscribed
The PocketGPSWorld.com team invite you to Basingstoke
Following on from the great success of the last GPS event at the Celtic Manor in Wales, PocketGPSWorld.com are now busily organising the biggest and most exciting meet for GPS enthusiasts and the industry at large - and thanks to the sponsors that collectively make up the cream of our industry ITS FREE!
We received some great feedback from the last event both from our users and the GPS companies. We have taken the many requests and suggestions onboard.
This time the PocketGPSWorld.com GPS Event will be taking place in Basingstoke, Hampshire, home of the Automobile Association. Why have we chosen Basingstoke? Alongside some of the major players in satellite navigation industry, the AA have generously offered to be a premium sponsor of the event, along with TomTom, Garmin and Destinator. Our Mapping sponsor is Teleatlas, who will be bringing along one of their Mobile Mapping vans so that you can see for yourselves how the map data is collected.
For more details click here.
To reserve your places please email gpsevent@pocketgpsworld.com, include your name, userid (if you have one), email address and the number of people who wish to attend. If you are in the GPS Industry please let us know what company you work for, even if you are not attending in an official capacity. We will let you know if your reservation has been successful within the next 72 hours.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Basingstoke! _________________ Mike Barrett

We thought of you and decided not to publish your distance in case it disuaded you.
Bad news for you though is that we have someone travelling in from Norway so you wont be getting the longest distance prize this time. On the other hand they might not either as there is a possibility that we may have people coming from the far east as well. _________________ Mike Barrett |

I saw the headline, Basingstoke, and through "Great! One I can get to easily!" (I haven't been able to attend any previous meetings).
I would have loved to attend, and Basinstoke's within very easy striking distance from me (I'm visiting friends there this evening, as it happens).
Unfortunately, I work from 10 'til 2pm on a Saturday and won't be able to take the day off, so the timing just isn't going to work for me.
Oh well, maybe another time. |

Get the stingy bu**ers to pay for a room this time so you can stop over and we can share a beer! _________________ Darren Griffin |

What is the car parking situation like, is there ample parking at the hotel? or do we need to find alternative places. _________________ Graham.

There is a fair quantity of parking but it does rather depend on how many attendees come by car and if the hotel is full. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi
Have any emails been sent yet to say who have got a place for the meet.
I've not got an email yet, so wondering if I'm going.
Cheers

No, I'm collating the emails and we've had a staggering response with over 450 so far.
Everyone who's applied so far has been accepted although we're approaching capacity.
Confirmation emails will be going out this weekend.
Thanks to all for the support and fantastic response. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Confirmations went out this morning so if you registered before about 10am today you should have received an email confirming your registration.
I'll collate all the remaining registrations and confirm those next weekend though we don't have much space left so if you do want to attend and haven't registered yet you'll need to be quick. Once our 600 capacity has been reached we'll not be able to accept further registration. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It might be a good idea for a future event but space, time and the practicalities of it for this event aren't in our favour. Perhaps anyone wanting to sell old equipment could use the For sale forum and annotate that they'll be at the event so you can meet and complete the transaction there? _________________ Darren Griffin |
