Hi,
I have a ipaq 5450 and am thinking a sat nav kit is the way forwards. Almost bought a compaq one but after doing some reading it seems the TomTom II is the way forwards!
So is this bundle good value for money?
http://www.totalpda.co.uk/productview.asp?section=1&id=4168
if not should i be looking at making my own bundle? the brodit mount kits look very good but i was unsure which GPS to use? I have no CF expantion for my ipaq but was thinking of getting one anyway... or would the blue tooth TomTom GPS be the way forwards? Only thing with it is when using it in the car how do you power it up presuming your ipaq is using the cig lighter?
So many questions i know
please help me!
Cheers,

It really depends on what your use is going to be. If you're looking for only in-car use, that package is ideal and reasonably priced. If you're looking to use it out of car, maybe walking from public car parks to a location, then you'll want a Bluetooth model. If you purchased a CF Sleeve, then you could go the CF GPS route. Either way, you'll want to use the SD card slot for your map storage which will be around 100mb in size.
Powering the above TomTom Cabled GPS basically you get a cable set that plugs into both the GPS Receiver to power it and the Pocket PC to charge it, using one accessory socket in-car.
Check out the review of TomTom Navigator 2. |

thanks for the quick reply dave!
well i hadn't planned on using it out of the car but i spose it would be nice to have the option!
the power question was more aimed at if i got the tomtom bluetooth GPS model? does it come with some sort of incar charger? and would i have to get a splitter for the cigarette lighter?
thanks for your help! was VERY confused till i found this site... now i'm only slightly confused
cheers,

ahhh ok i have just found that tomtom do do abundle with the blue tooth GPS model as apposed to the bundle i quoted in my first post...
its just its not available to mid july apparently
i guess that would come with everything you need to run off one cig lighter like the existing non bluetooth bundle.
i think i'll wait out for that one! |
