I am disappointed to find that the TTN5 compatible version of POIWarner (v2.64 and above) no longer silences TomTom 5 (temporarily) from giving navigation directions. The earlier versions of POIWarner and TomTom Navigator worked quite harmoniously together, but this compatibility seems to have been dropped with the latest version.

I have written to POIWarner's developer and he tells me that (at present) there is no way to silence TomTom 5 from making its navigation directions - should a safety camera come into range. In fact, the very latest v2.65 now has the custom setting removed (from the options menu) for adjusting the sound overlap with TomTom. I can understand his difficulty, especially when TomTom have changed their method of storing audio warnings, but I think he should specifically mention the shortcoming to his existing customers.

Maybe TomTom made a positive decision to hit the add-on market by this simple change in audio warnings for version 5. All I know is that I can't hear either the TTN directions or the safety camera warning when both trigger together. I've therefore stopped using POIWarner in favour of TomTom's own warning system, but I hope the problem is quickly resolved, because I really miss POIWarner filtering the camera warnings to just those where I'm driving too fast.

POI-Warner has always talked over Navigon 4.2 and the latest v5.1.

Interesting response, but why did the developer confirm it was not possible to temporarily mute TomTom 5 when POIWarner 2.64 had a more pressing safety camera warning?
