|
|
I know it is almost time for the new version of the database, but I have only just been able to put on the August files to my Father's Go. He started the unit for the first time since the upgrade today and the Go seemed like it was steam driven. After finally firing up, he planned his route home and the system timed out whilst writing the route. I replaced the camera files and tried again with the same result. I then deleted the files, rebooted the Go and it ran fine. I then added each camera database individually and it ran fine until I added the mobile database. It was this file that was causing it to run like a dog.
Has anyone else had this problem or has my file just corrupted?
Cheers

Hi marksfish,
Did you try loading the camera categories in a different order? Did you find that is was always the mobile camera database that caused you a problem, or it was always the last database that you added?
What SD card (brand and size) do you have in your father’s GO?
If it’s the original SD card then you may want to consider getting a larger one, e.g. 512Mb.
I’m using the database with no problems on TTNav 5.10 on a PPC. I’ve not heard of any problems with a corrupt database either.
Have you tried downloading the database from our website again and retrying?

Have you tried deleting any foreign voices you don't need? (Can be done on the Go from the select voice page). |

It was always the mobile database, but then that was always the last one loaded, I didn't try any other order as the problem didn't appear until it was time to go to work yesterday morning and I didn't have enough time to investigate fully.

It's the original TT card as there were no discs with his purchase from Halfords, I had to back the card up for hime before he started using it.

Me too and it works fine for me, which is why I wondered if it was a Go thing.
Cheers

With the GO, you need about 2MB free to work without problems. _________________ Richard

i have had a similar problem. I have backed up my TT go 300 data to a new sandisc 512mb sd card, all works fine in the go... Then i attempt to add the camera database, all goes on the card ok, put the 512 mb card into the go, a roll of drums and ... nothing! Take the card out put back into the laptop internal card reader, click on the camera database files and the laptop hangs. To get round this i had to reformat the card and copy the data across from the hard disc, tried again but got the same problem. So have now given up and have just got the basic copy of the tt go 300 on the 512 card as a backup. I did have a similar problem with my original card when i tried to add an Ozzy voice, the whole thing then hung, and i managed to get it working again, although if i go to the voices folder on my card the laptop will hang. something amiss but as the tt is working with the camera database onboard and i have a working copy without the cameras i have figured to quit messing whilst it still works! |
