Hello I just got a new car and want to buy a GPS for it. Someone at the dealership suggested a Megellan Nav 750M Plus. I would like some feedback on this also some Pros and Cons and any suggestions on what to get if not this one......Thank You |

The options are slightly different as you're in the US (most of the users of this site and these forums are in the UK - but hang around, as there's lots of US related information here too). However, the differences are getting increasingly less - many products are now available both in the US and the UK.
I think you've got three main options if you want a stand alone unit - the Magellan, a Garmin StreetPilot III, or the Navman iCN630.
As an alternative, if you either already have (or fancy buying) a Pocket PC, there's then plenty of Pocket PC based options. I'm using, and am delighted with TomTom Navigator 2 here in the UK - the US version is either just released or just about to be released.
You may find that a Pocket PC based combination is more powerful and flexible. You have all the usual functions of a Pocket PC as well as a capable navigation system if you choose this option and the cost is around the same. In the review of the iCN630 on this site here, there's some discussion of the pros and cons of a standalone unit like the iCN630 versus a Pocket PC based setup.
Take a look at the reviews on this site - and see what you land up thinking then. Ask any questions you like here - and hopefully someone can help you out!

Annette, In my opinion, you can't beat tha NAV 750 PLUS. I've owned one for two years -- I did a lot of research before I purchased mine. The company is not user-friendly, but a good local dealer will take care of that. Kendrick |
