How often is the UK map updated?

As in the subject really, just got this product working today! I had real problems getting the software to install and see the GPS hardware! So far the product seems reliable when connect to the GPS hardware.. It’s a nightmare if you go into the demo mode I had to do lots or reinstall as the application would seem to hang! Also I notice it no longer ask me to activate. Even though I have done a hardware reset a couple of times



I personally find it a bit off-putting driving with no map shown..



BTW. I am using a Toshiba E350

The next map update is likely to be with the next upgrade. The map data in version 2 is that current at TomTom's map suppliers as at December 2002, though, of course, it wasn't perfectly up to date at that point. The process of updating digital maps is always ongoing if it's being done properly..



A complete guess is that we might see a new version about a year from the release of Navigator 2 - which would be April 2004. Navigator 2 is still pretty new, really - it's only been around for something like 2.5 months.
