For each POI that you want to use, you have 2 files. One is the .ov2, the database, and the other is the .bmp file, the icon that you see on the screen.
Each pair of files, and they have to been named the same, is copied to the Map Folder.
The files you get from piodownload will be .asc files. These have to be converted to the .ov2 format by using a tool called Makeov2.exe.
You can get Makeov2.exe from the Ov2tools.zip, which you can download from here.
In Windows Explorer, Drag the .asc file to Makeov2.exe and it will create an .ov2 file with the same name. It will also create a default .bmp file which you can keep or modify to your own preference. _________________ Richard
