Ever heard of Google? A quick search reveals that it's available at TotalPDA for £105 inc VAT.
However, it's not SiRFStarIII, and I wouldn't consider a receiver that wasn't these days. _________________ Darren Griffin |

First choice, SiRFStarIII, Second Choice SiRFStarIII, third SiRFStarIII
It's more than worth the extra cost. The performance is much much better. Get a Holux GPSlim 236 , £106.00. _________________ Darren Griffin |

With or without the UK VAT customs will probably levy on it, which you will have to pay before royal mail will let you pick it up? I was collecting something the other day from our local sorting office and overheard a women going mad because she was being charged another £43 for a "bargain" dress from USA that had only cost her £50 on ebay. |

Darren, who could resist that recommendation? Am finally thinking of upgrading from my Pharos mouse, still going after a few years now.
Do you know of any problems that I would have with an HP2210 Bluetooth, and/or TomTom?
Cheers

I use a 2210, no problems other than ensuring you use CF for the maps in TomTom for best results with a BT GPs. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the fast response. Are you saying that the CF is preferable to SD?
Thanks

Certainly with TomTom3 there were performance issues when using a combination of SD for map storage and BT GPS with the h2210. Using CF for maps resolved this completely.
I honestly don't know if this issue is still present in v5 as I always use CF for the maps. But yes. my advice would be to use CF. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Darren, I took up your recommendation and got one for £98 inc delivery.
From the moment I took it out of the box, plugged it in, set my 2215 to the right port, I was amazed.
I got 9 high signals within a few seconds, more than I have ever seen on my Pharos mouse! AND I was indoors!
Cant wait to get it in the car, in the house I managed to maintain the BT connection on a different floor and at the other end of the house.
One question, what is the normal charging time?
Cheers, Alan
PS I have loaded maps on both SD & CF so will compare. |

Glad to hear you're a happy camper. For those unfamiliar with GPS SiRFStarIII they accept its performance as normal, however for those of us who have had earlier solutions the improvement really is a revelation. _________________ Darren Griffin |
