hi

i have 2 USA POI catagorys for any one who wants them

they are WALMART(all walmart and super walmart) and COSTCO

if anyone wants them please let me know and i will send them or if you can let me know how to post them on this site i will do that instead

i cant remember where i found the origonal files but managed to change them to ov2 files (many thanks to the people who guided me in the right direction with that)

i also have a STATE PARKS one (without a bitmap icon) but have not tested on my tomtom yet so if you want it let me know

In the meantime I have identified the source of the data

http://www.discoveryowners.com/cginfolinks.htm

and I have asked the owners if they can add the TomTom OV2 format to their output. Let's see how this works out.

Those are some really good ones. Other good ones that people using the 300 and 700 in the US could use would be any of the fast food joints.

the maps i have for the usa (2005) do seem to have a large poi database under resturants (admittidly i have only looked for ones near our house in kissimmee) including macdonalds/checkers

i will still keep looking for more pois though. any i find i will send to lutz on this site

Hello ... Did you ever post them on the site. I did not find any new POI for USA.

Also how do you create POI, what program do you use. I would spend the time to convert more with the site you identified.

Thanks!

linrew,

I sent you a mail asking you to resend since your original mail was eaten by my spam filter.

To create your own POIs use our POIConverter or the basic TomTOm MakeOV2 tool.
