Please help!! Currently using a Medion MDPNA100 with built in GPS with POI overlays running through POIWARNER MN5 Edition v2.90. I upgraded this from MN4 edition which i had happily used with PocketGPS speedcam database plus other POI's. I upgraded this version when prompted by poiwarner but wish i hadn't!!!!!!!!
I have checked and rechecked all of my overlay settings and options (show within 50Km zoom etc.) but still can't get any overlays to show using Medion Navigator. Last resort i have ditched all overlays and re-installed, but to no avail.
Oh yes and they are all converted to ASCII files. All database files are in the same locations as bitmaps and all have same filenames etc. etc.
I'm sure this is something really stupid that i am missing because i am used to using the program from before. I just need to check whether anyone knows if this is a bug or not? Is there a fix? Am i the only one with this problem? Can i get my MN4 edition back?????
Will navigating.de let me downgrade??? (I didn't think so either) :D
Any guidance gratefully received |

Did you upgrade the GPS Software from version 4.xx to version 5.xx If not then you cannot use the POI-Warner v5.xx software, that is for the v5.xx GPS Software, if you have upgraded both then the poi files need to be added again as POI-Warner looks for them in different folders, not sure how the folder structure is on the PNA, but on the PDA it is like this for POI-Warner v4.xx
My Device - Program Files - POIWarner MN4-Edition - pois < the files go in this pois folder.
For POI-Warner v5.xx
My Device - Program Files - navigating.de.PPC Files - pois < the files go in this pois folder.
That's all the advice I can give you as I don't have the same setup as you. |

Thanks for the advice. I'm running 'Medion Navigator' v4.3 GPS software and i'm not sure if there is an upgrade for this system! When you buy these things there is no mention of software upgrades and where to go etc.. Has anyone got an upgraded medion navigator GPS software than 4.3?? where can i do this..
This may be the problem as you rightly state but the file system you refer to is identical between MN4 and MN5 except the MN5 is obviously:
My Device - Program files - POIWarnerMN5 edition - pois.
I did notice that although the program icon launched MN5 after the upgrade it appeared that MN4 was still present on the PDA. I removed this and copied all pois to the relevant MN5 folder.
Other than the above - i'm still stumped! |
