Globalsat BR355 & Ipaq 3870 - not working

Apologies if this is not the correct forum to post this query but I am a newbie!!

I have just received a GlobalSat BR355 serial-mouse GPS receiver from easydevices.co.uk, along with the PS2 cable to connect it to my ipaq 3870. I have followed all instructions and installed the software on my ipaq. I have tried all of the different COM ports but am not picking up any satellites. Indeed, I am not even sure if the unit is working.

I have been using TomTom for many years now with the Serial-NMEA output from my Road Angel so I know that the ipaq is working fine.

Any ideas?

Hi,
The settings for your GPS receiver should be as follows:

NMEA protocol
Baud rate 4800
Serial Port on Com 1

You shouldn't need to install the software from the disk. The GPSInfo software is simply a utility to test your receiver. It can conflict with your TomTom so uninstall it and then use the settings above.
