Dalek Voice

Has anyone else experienced this or is it just my iCN510? When it's connected to the cigarette adaptor in the car and the battery is fully charged the voice sounds similar to a dalek! When I disconnect the cable and the unit is running from the battery the voice goes back to normal. Is this correct??? 9 times out of 10 I leave the unit in the car fully connected and it just seems daft that the voice is only normal when the battery is not charging! Any Ideas?
