|
|
Had a job today in Abbey Court, Chertsey, Surrey. Didn't have postcode but tried to put address in - wouldn't show up / accept it.
The road its off of is Abbey road which is not a new road but its not selectable in the navigate to option.
Got over it by getting directions from shop and consulting my a-z.
Left tomtom running without having a route planned and it didn't show the name of the road (abbey road) as i turned into it but it did show Abbey court.
Any ideas why I couldn't navigate to it if its shown on the map.
Also, if I browse the map Abbey road is shown without a name but tap on it and it comes up with "25 Abbey Road" (house number and road name).
Am i cracking up or doing something wrong - its not a big deal but i wonder how many other roads are affected this way. |

Try other nearby towns - it might not be listed under Chertsey.
There are a few examples here in Gower. Monksland Road, Scurlage is not listed under Scurlage, but can be found under Reynoldston and Port Eynon

If you have the same job again the Postcode KT168AL, will take you halfway down Abbey Road. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the replies.
Tried searching in a couple of of local towns but wasn't there either.
The postcode is definetly the thing to have (thanks for that) - will have to push the shop more to take postcode when taking address.
Must just be one of those things - can't remember thou if i could navigate to it on tt3. |

hi
If you have an address but no postcode then try http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm
and use the postcode finder. You have to register & can do 12 free postcode searches per day. Any more than that you would have to pay.
It can be easier & quicker than phoning for directions & then browsing the map to locate the street. _________________ If riding in a plane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the feeling

If you can browse the map to the place you need, then just Add as favourite, and then Navigate to it that way.

He wanted to go there once, so not a favourite really, and he wanted TomTom to tell him where it was as he did not know.
If you want to look it up on the map and you don't know where it is on the map how long are you willing to spend scrolling the map about.
Class answer dude. Only a die-hard TomTom fan could have come out with that to try to save the embarrassment that it does not work right (again) |
