Help a newbie out please, tt5 & spve200& bt 338

Hi, new to this game so came to the best place, problem is i have an orange SPV E200 and have purchased a Globalsat BT338 receiver. This receiver works well on the laptop and my friends PDA but not on the SPV, i have bonded the receiver with the SPV and seem to be alright except when i start up tt5 mobile it says no gps receive, i go into preferences in tt5 and to the bt receiver and select other receiver (not tomtom) and configurations where i get the message to pair my smartphone with a bt reciver(which i have already done) cant get no further than this. Can anybody who has done this tell me step by step how ?
ps. i have option 7 set to accept incoming beams and option 8 set to discoverable
bonded device is listed as BT-GPS-3127E3

option 7 is not relevant (that's infrared) - switch that off again.
