12 digit grid ref conversion to OV2 files

I am trying to make poi's from an existing xls spread sheet containing thousands of os coordinates which are in the format eg. 383100 387900 but am unable to find a program that alows this format, win ov2 asks for some letters before the numbers.
The other option is to convert the info to long and lat
Any suggestions
