I cannot seem to get the post code search working properly on my Tomton GO. I have the latest Great_Britain_Plus-Map on the SD card, and in this I have put the Great_Britain.Postal file (this is 8.41Mb, after unzipping,so I guess this is about right?).
When I go through the sequence Navigate to - Postcode - then enter a post code, only the first 4 letters & numerals are registered, then I have to put the street, etc in.
Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
(Please excuse me if am tardy in replying to any messages, but I am away from Sunday the 12th for a week!) |

Did you put the Great_Britain.Postal file in the ZIP (not zipped) folder in the root of the SD card?
The path to this file should be something like that:
E:\ZIP\Great_Britain.Postal file, where E: is the root |

Thanks very much - sorted!
I had taken the postcode file out of the zip folder and put into the Great_Britain Map folder!
Works perfectly now.
Thanks again. |

So you think he's smart enough to install a cracked Plus map, but haven't got a clue where the post code file goes? |

Map doesn't "have" the postcodes, but the postcodes databases do come together with 2005 maps of UK and Holland on SDs and I believe on CDs with MoWE. The postcodes reside in a separate folder called zip. |

If TerryR had the latest maps he would not have been trying to unzip a copy of Great_Britain.Postal file on to his TomTom go.
It looked pretty Obvious to me what he was up to. |

No idea, mate. Perhaps he was installing them from MoWE CDs? Could somebody enlighten us how the GB postcodes are installed from MoWE? |

When you install the GB maps there is a further option to install the GB Postcodes. This installs the Postcode file in the Zip Folder in the Root of the SD card. _________________ Richard
