|
|
I posted this on the hardware forum a couple of days ago & have no response, sorry if this is just off the radar for the forum but you guys seem to know everything. :P
I am running TT5 with a BT-338 GPS, I currently have a bog standard mount which just sticks onto the windscreen.
The problem is that when travelling at high speeds the sound is a bit difficult to hear & sometime the mount falls off the windscreen.
Can anybody recommend a good mount that will amplify the sound & ideally fit into the vents & not the windscreen??? |

Yup, I use a Brodit amplified holder and it's superb. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for this. I've noticed on the example images that the connector to the PDA output socket is attached at the top.
does this cause any problem with the XDAII as it's connector is at the bottom??
Also have you experienced any static feedback with the radio or when you receive a phonecall?
thanks. |

I use a genuine XDA II car kit and the lovely Sylvia's voice is loud and clear through the car kit's speaker....she gets a bit loud at times....I'm always turning her down!!
You can buy the car kit from expansys for around a £100 plus the cost of getting a professional to install it...when you consider how much a Brodit mount might cost, it's probably better to go the whole hog and buy a proper car kit!
The XDA II mounting bracket didn't come with a proper dash fixing bracket, so I shaped a bracket bought from B & Q and fixed it to the dash....it doesn't fall off and it doesn't vibrate...
And you avoid having one of them irritating Bluetooth headsets stuck in your ear!! |

thanks for the tip Daz but as I'm constantly switching between cars it wouldn't make sense for me to get it hard wired into 1 car. At least with the Brodit I could alternate it with different cars.
cheers. |

I use an Arkon powered mount which I got from Morpeth Mobiles. This is screen mounted and has built in amplifier as well as connexions to charge a Blue Tooth GPS brick.
Great value!
