To date I have left Smart Battery on Auto - I'm running TT5 and GPSdash2. Can anyone quantify what differences in performance and battery life there are using other settings (low/high/superior performance), or is it best to leave it on Auto and let it sort itself out?

Also, has anyone any experiences of overclocking? How did you do it, and what broke?

I have played around with those settings a few times with both the Medion 95000 & Mio168, I cannot tell any difference, not even any performance gain when playing movies, so just leave them on Auto as you say.

I called Mitac in Belgium about this a couple of weeks ago and the guy at tech support admitted that the settings on that page do nothing and not to waste my time playing with them because 'they are not connected to anything' !!

At least he was honest.

In a perverse sort of way, I'm quite impressed with the response you received. Rather that than 'looking into it, blah, blah, blah' or 'known bug, waffle, waffle, waffle'. I'm glad I hadn't managed to convince myself that changing the settings does make a difference.
